Make the system understandable

About The Benefits Barrister
We help people of State Pension age and the families supporting them prepare Attendance Allowance claims properly — and challenge decisions where the evidence supports it.
Atticus is Now in AttendanceWhat we are
The Benefits Barrister is designed to bridge the gap between a difficult benefits form and a legally coherent account of what somebody needs day to day.
The service is led by a practising barrister operating through chambers in Temple, London. It combines accessible client care with the ability to continue from the initial form through Mandatory Reconsideration and, where appropriate, tribunal.
Our purpose
Families should be able to see what the benefit is, what the form is asking and what happens next.
The claim should describe everyday life honestly and fully, rather than leaving important detail hidden between short answers.
An incorrect first decision should be examined and challenged through the correct process.
The campaign figurehead
At a minimum of 6ft 6in, in full wig and gown with half-moon spectacles, Atticus is a towering but reassuring presence. He personifies the promise that a genuine legal advocate stands behind the claim.
“I won’t be there when you cross the road. But I’ll always enforce the correct legal code.”
Regulatory information
The final live website should name the practising barrister, chambers, BSB registration details, public-access status, authorised entity and complaints route in wording approved for publication.
The current build retains the approved “barrister-led” and “BSB-regulated” brand signals but does not invent the missing names or reference numbers.
